Smart, Powerful Design
The nüvi 250 is built with a high-sensitivity WAAS-enabled GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 3.8 x 2.8 x .8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 5.2 ounces. The nüvi 250’s 3.5-inch (diagonal) display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to five hours of battery life depending on use.

Navigate with Ease
nüvi 250 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator NT street maps, including a hefty points of interest (POIs) database with hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. Simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with 2D or 3D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions. In addition, nüvi 250 accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs.

Go Beyond Navigation

The little garmin is a good buy for the price. The screen is a little small to be using while driving but with a passenger/navigator it helps a thousand times. And make sure you don’t have it set to pedestrian mode while traveling on the highway!

Multi-Destination Routing

Wider screen lets you see more of what’s around. Compare these actual size views of a 3-inch (diagonal) screen and a 4.3-inch diagonal widescreen

This lets you enter several spots into the device (day care - supermarket-cleaners - office - day care, for example) and it will plot the fastest route. Where Am I? Where’s My Car?
The nüvi 700 series is the first to answer two common questions: “Where am I?” and “Where’s my car?”

The widescreen format gives you 70% more actual screen area than a 3.5-inch screen. Primarily this translates into a better view of the area through which you are driving. First Rate Map Data
The nüvi 780 is preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps for the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Garmin gets its map data from NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium-quality mapping.

Simple set up and easy operation. Turn it on as I get to the course and I have yardage before I am on the first tee. I carry it in my pocket and it does not loose the satellites. Best golf aid I have purchased.
Customer Review: Great for the price
This is a great unit for the price. It does what it says it will do. There are plenty of golf courses available for the 34 buck fee from igolf and you can download 100 in a year. I only found one yardage off on one hole of the courses where I have used it. I mapped distances to hazards on various holes on my home course and it works great. I played with a friend recently who had a golf guru and one who had a golf buddy gps. They are neat with a lot more features then this one, but then they cost over twice as much. Their yardages matched mine on the bushnell neo. I am very satisfied and I got it for about $129 from a partner of Amazon OpticsPlanet. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is that the manual was not well written and the software instructions were incomplete. But, this should not be a deterrent to buying one. Garmin’s affordable GPS 60, a handheld, 12-parallel-channel GPS receiver, is perfect for land or marine navigation. The device is designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). With its separate serial and USB interfaces, the device is convenient to hook up and use right out of the box.

The GPS 60 is a non-mapping unit that comes factory preloaded with a 1 MB marine point database that includes world cities. This trusty handheld is compact and lightweight, with a user-friendly interface. It’s reliable and as extra-precise as WAAS can make it. The unit also offers a dedicated geocaching mode, indoor/outdoor games, an alarm clock, sunrise/sunset and moon phase tables, optimal hunting and fishing times, and much more.

The device offers a high-contrast, four-level grayscale LCD (160 x 240 pixels) with backlighting for the display and the keypad. A large-numbers option provides easy viewing. You get 1,000 user waypoints with name and graphic symbol and 20 reversible routes; position formats include Lat/Lon, UTM, Loran TDs, Maidenhead, MGRS, and user grid. Memory is non-volatile for permanent user data storage, requiring no memory battery.

A handy trip computer provides an odometer, stopped time, moving average, overall average, total time, max speed, and more. The unit also comes with a 10,000-point automatic track log, and 20 saved tracks (500 points each) let you retrace your path in both directions. Other features include course and speed filtering; built-in celestial tables for best times to fish and hunt (plus sun and moon calculations); an alarm clock wake-up and stop watch; audible alarms for anchor drag, arrival, off-course, and proximity waypoint; and a geocaching navigation mode. Navigation instructions can be shared with repeaters, plotters, and autopilots using NMEA protocols through the serial port.

The GPS 60’s rugged, fully gasketed case is waterproof to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards, meaning it’s submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The device derives up to 28 hours battery life using 2 AA batteries (not included).

Customer Review: Review of Garmin GPS 60
I purchased the Garmin GPS 60 to get the anchor drag alarm, which product advertising and information says it has. The so-called alarm gives one, and only one, barely audible ” beep” and that is it. This clearly is not an “anchor drag alarm”. An alarm must be continuous until it is shut off. This would never awaken a sleeping individual, and is consequently useless as an “ancor drag alarm”. Product advertising and information is very misleading and wrong. Disappointing for a company like Garmin.

I bought this screen protector for my Nuvi 370, unfortunately the screen protector is smaller than the Nuvi screen so it looks bad.
Customer Review: New GPS User
The screen covers are useless since a small strip of paper remains on them in order to remove the cover. The strip covers part of the screen obstructing the view, thereby making the covers pointless because you now cannot see all of the screen.
